MaVynee Oshun Betsch () was a Black American environmentalist and activist. She is famously know as “The Beach Lady for her conservation efforts and dedication to America Beach on Floridas coast.
America Beach is a beach community that was built in the s by MaVynee’s grandfather, Abraham Lincoln Lewis, Florida’s first black millionaire. For decades it served as an ocean-side paradise for Blacks from around the country who had no other beach to attend during the Jim Crow era.
