The Order of Preachers was founded by St.
Dominic de Guzman, a Spanish friar, on 1215 to proclaim the word of God by preaching, teaching and example, while they are sustained by life in common.[1] Through the synthesis of the contemplative life and the active ministry, numerous members and affiliates of the Order have attained heroic virtues and were recognized for their holiness being canonized and are currently on beatification process thereafter.[2]
The following is an exhaustive list of Dominican members, affiliates and those who embraced the Dominican spirituality who are now recognized as saints, blesseds, venerables and servants of God in the Catholic Church.
It also includes those who are considered probable candidates for sainthood. As of 1970, three members have been recognized as Doctors of the Church.
